Yet another freaking awesome day. I am so happy!

The day started with a shower and a bowl of oatmeal. Mmmm. Oatmeal. Then we got dressed, headed to Plymouth, cashed my check then headed to Concord. We got into Concord an hour before my appointment at Keene Medical so we decided to head over to the DMV and get Kathy a non-driver ID. It went so much smoother now that she has all the necessary paperwork. She is now a card-carrying New Hampshire citizen and not a potential terrorist (although someone should tell these terror-freaked people that the 9/11 terrorists were card-carrying US immigrants, but I digress). Then we headed over to Keene Medical to get my new CPAP mask.

Once again, Keene Medical came through for me big time. I really have to thank David and crew for cutting me a big break on the cost of my mask. I have little money and no insurance. The mask was supposed to cost $300. They sold it to me for $100. That's super kind of them! I have to call my doctor tomorrow and tell her how great they have treated me and thank her immenseley for directing me to them. Last time they sold me used equipment and my new mask for just under $1,000 (it was valued at much more) and let me make payments over a year. If you need medical equipment, I urge you to speak with the folks at Keene Medical. They're the best!

After that we had some cash left over so we went to Borders and splurged a little since my tax refund comes in tomorrow. We finally bought a copy of "The Return of the King" since we had the other two books and "The Hobbit," but not Return. We also found a book of writings by Ohiyesa's (Charles Eastman), a Wahpeton Dakota graduate of Dartmouth College, on the life of the Wahpeton Dakota. We also picked up a cheap two-for-one DVD of "Godzilla vs. Space Godzilla" and "Godzilla vs. Destaroyah". We also stopped in at EB Games and picked up some cheap pre-owned PS games (Final Fantasy VII, Dino Crisis and Legends of the Dragoon). They had N64 controllers on the cheap, too, but I didn't see any pre-owned games I was interested in so I really didn't see any sense in buying the controllers right then and there.

From the Steeplegate Mall we headed over to visit Paul. Jenny was working her usual late night Thursday so she wasn't in. We left at 6 to go meet Jon and Kirsten for dinner and Jon and I ended up talking about Apartment 81 and how he still had the computer files of our demo master recordings. So naturally I asked for a copy. Then I asked if he had a Mac serial printer cable I could snag from him. He did. He gave me two! And his old Kensington Turbo Mouse trackball for Mac. And an old serial MIDI interface for Mac. And some old 30-pin RAM chips for 68k Macs. And an iMate adapter for ADB to USB. Super sweet! Thanks Jon! As a result I was able to reconfigure my GatorBox successfully when we got home. Yay! PSC-South no longer exists. All their zones are belong to me! I love surplus equipment.

Since Jon and I got so distracted with Mac stuff for about an hour, we were able to get Paul and Jenny in on the dining out experience. I'm so glad that worked out the way it did. We had a really enjoyable time talking and joking and the usual over a really nice meal at the Barley House in downtown Concord. I had the Teri Beef Strips, Pumpkin Apple Bisque and Jumbalaya. What a great meal! And to top it off I had the Bread Pudding with Maple Whiskey Sauce for desert. Mmmmm. It's been a while since Kathy and I had a real nice dinner anywhere halfway decent. I highly recommend the Barley House!

Then Paul and Jenny went home and Kathy and I returned with Jon and Kirsten to their condo. We had an extended conversation. Jon told me about a web development position opening at the University for 41k a year in the PR department. I may apply for it. It seems it's mostly visual layout and CMS type stuff, plus minimal coding and mucking with CSS, so it's all pretty typical work. Apparently the requirements for the job are ridonkulously simple. I could use the cash, but I'm not sure I could be happy working in that environment, nor would I want to give up the PCC3 job entirely, which I truly enjoy despite being underpaid and part-time. I certainly don't want to work 60+ hours a week which is what would happen if I worked both. Who knows, it could end up more like 80+ hours a week. We'll see. I may just apply and see where it leads. I still feel a bit awkward considering applying half-heartedly for a position that I may just end up refusing in the end.

So now my CPAP parts should be done air-drying. I'm off to get a very short but high-quality night's sleep. The first in months. I plan to cherish what few hours I get. Good night!
