1. srturtle is short for Silver Rain Turtle, which is a name given to me by two people that I rarely use to identify myself these days. Still, the name hasn't lost it's meaning. While I try not to get too spiritual on everyone, the color silver has a very spiritual meaning to me and is strongly linked with my spiritual connection with water. Also the turtle is a spirit guide that means a great deal to me and has helped me learn a lot about myself, my life and the world around me.
2. "Musings of the Amused" represents the spectrum of content I post here: everything from the ridiculously amusing and light-hearted stuff to the heavy, contemplative musings. Often times the musings protected on some level so you may not see a lot of it if you aren't on my friend list. Plus I really enjoy the word play.
3. "Simple Things. Simple Mind." I generally like to keep life simple. I'm not intentionally a very complex person, though I realize that all beings by their very existence are complex and complicated.
4. "A Feast of Friends" This is of course a Doors reference. Some may recognize the phrase from the song "When the Music's Over," but it's also a poem set to music on the album "An American Prayer" released several years after Jim Morrison's death. If you haven't heard it, it's very beautiful though melancholy. Of course, the lines that struck me most from it are... "I will not go. Prefer a feast of friends to the giant family."
