And now an update...
Things are going well. We're all moved into the new place and enjoying it. It's really out of the way and we're at least 5 miles from the nearest street light in any direction so on a clear night we can see plenty of stars. It's so nice and quiet!
We have dial-up Internet access as of today, which is good. The only other option out our way is Wild Blue satellite Internet, which is questionable since we're in the middle of the woods and may not have a clear view of the southern sky. It's also not as afordable as they'd like you to believe. It costs $300 to setup, which is hardly "affordable" on my budget. Dial-up it is.
Work is good. Still happy, even if annoyed with the trend of longer meetings these days. It was just the Planning Board, but now it seems to be every board is following suit and averaging 3 - 4 hours per meeting. Oh well, keeps me employed and in practice. I'm wrapping up grant projects now, although it looks like I may be getting started on another soon. That's good, though, because it means new equipment.
Play is good, too. Having fun playing board and card games as usual. I just bought used copies of Ticket to Ride: Europe and Nuclear War from someone on a listserv (sorry Ray, it was for charity!) and expect to see them soon. I was excited because at first I was possibly getting Samurai Swords but alas someone else beat me to it. I promise I'll buy a game from you soon, Ray. ;)
Well, laundry is ready to dry so I must go. Enjoy your weekend, wherever you are!

Date: 2006-09-16 02:59 pm (UTC)From:And my Mom turns the big 50 two days after I turn 31 so I get to call and remind her. :P
Three days after my birthday my friend Randy also turns 31, so I get to rub it in that I beat him to it. ;)
Then four days after my birthday is Kathy and my ten-year anniversary together. She's taking the day off so I have to think up something very romantic to do for hewith a whole day off. As much as I think the local steakhouse is a rip-off (you should see the prices! at least $20 a plate!), we have a gift card so I might take her there.
