Somone else who did this said it only counted public posts, too. So your locked entries wouldn't be reflected.

I don't know. It does include logging in and, if you're logged in when you download the XML file with the comment list, it should grab everything including the protected. But thats true: if it doesn't grab protected comments then it will certainly affect the results.

I can't get this to work, probably because I'm dumb, but I imagine I'd have similar results because, like you, I reply to a lot of them!

You most certainly are not dumb! *tsk tsk* Actually the instructions are kinda confusing. At first I didn't entirely understand what they were getting at. Let's see if I can explain it a little better:

First you have to log into your LJ. Then copy that URL they give into your browser (you'll probably want to do this in a new tab/window) and it will show a page full of XML code. Go to "File --> Save Page As..." and save that page as a file on your computer. Next click the "Browse" button on the meme and find the file you just saved to your computer. Then click the button to generate you chart. The code to paste in your LJ will appear in the big white box at the bottom of the meme.

Hopefully this makes it a little easier to understand!

you should check mine out I am just posting it right now, but I know that personally I try to reply to as many as possible which is what you do which is why you have so many comments from yourself and I must say it is nice to actually get conversations going every now and it is rather refreshing, anyways check mine out!
