Things are good. Today was LARP day, though I didn't play. I still have a bunch of catching up to do on this whole World of Darkness stuff since I spent so long avoiding it. I read through "Laws of the Wild" and I have a better sense of what's going on. And I wrote some alternate lyrics to "London Calling" for my folk-singing Red Talon (I know, a bit of an oxymoron but it works). More importantly I got to see Matt, Chris, Shawn, Will, Kelly, Will, Laura and the rest again, which is super fun. Between Matt and me there were many sexual innuendos. Foamy would be so disappointed. There was much fun at the expense of the snake-whacking Saint Patrick. It's okay, though. Matt and I are both Irish. We had this amusing realization that St. Patrick went around whacking all the snakes in Ireland which started a long Catholic tradition of snake-whacking that has carried through to the modern day Boston archdiocese.

Okay, that one was bad.

In the good news department, I am yet again an uncle. Jess had her baby tonight. He's 6 pounds, 11 ounces. In all the excitement my dad forgot to tell me his name. Oh well, he can't be blamed. He's pleased as punch. Cat should be having her baby soon, making me an uncle four times over. I feel a bit awkward and left behind here. Both of my younger sisters are having kids. Jess is married. Cat's just barely into her twenties. Meanwhile here I am 30, balding, single (technically, though quite spoken for) and without children. But hey, I have a degree. Big whoop. I would gladly trade it for a family of my own. All things in their time, though. When it happens, it happens. If it happens.

I can't wait to get my guitars fixed up. I'm still holding out for a tuner and a new saddle for Satan. The G string is painfully out of tune and with poor intonation because the saddle has chipped away under the string. So I can't bring myself to replace the strings yet. Hopefully by the middle of next week it'll be squared away.

Chuck wants me to go in to the Lucky Dog and capture a bit of video from the digital surveillance system again. I'm really getting tired of doing this. It's not something I do frequently so I have to relearn the system every time.I think I'll charge him even more this time. Eventually I'll be so expensive he'll just hire the guy who installed it. In the meantime I'll have no trouble raising my rates and making a quick buck off him because he's an asshole. Most of the town is in agreement on this so if you think I'm being harsh, check with some others. They'll concur. It's hard to have compassion for a man that has regularly berated you and your friends and coworkers. It's very easy, however, to take advantage of him when he is willing to spend cash on me cause I know something he doesn't and he has the money to blow.

I try not to think of it as greed so much as karma. I'm making up for all the people he's pissed on along the way. And I'm paying some bills while I'm at it.

I really shouldn't make such decisions, though, cause I'll probably just be getting some karma of my own, too.

An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.
