I was asked by Ang, so here are my responses. :)
1. Leave me a comment saying anything random, like your favorite lyric to your current favorite song. Or your favorite kind of sandwich. Something random. Whatever you like.
2. I respond by asking you five personal questions so I can get to know you better.
3. You WILL update your journal with the answers to the questions.
4. You will include this explanation and offer to ask someone else in the post.
5. When others comment asking to be asked, you will ask them five questions.
1. What's the best job you've ever had?
In spite of all the recent stress, I would have to say my current job. I really enjoy what I do. I work with some cool people. I feel like an important, contributing member of the community. I get paid double my best-paying job now that I'm full-time and I have benefits for the first time in ten years (with excellent coverage, too)!
2. How long were you and Kathy going out before you moved in together? (So that I may be awed and jealous no matter what the answer.)
Well, I moved into her mother's house to housesit only a few months after we started seeing each other, and Kathy stayed there during breaks. We moved into our first apartment together after 11 months and have been living in sin since. I'm sure it bothers her very conservative sister to no end. She's unleashed the LDS missionaries on us several times. :P
3. I know you're a huge Beatles fan - what's one of your favorite albums?
This was a tough choice, but I would say "Abbey Road." It was the last album The Beatles recorded together. "Let It Be," while released after "Abbey Road," was actually recorded before it. There's something about the sound of the album that's just cohesive and a fitting tribute to their time together. It also provided a very finite closure with the song "The End." Another favorite would be "Rubber Soul" because it was heavily influenced by Bob Dylan and started to hint where they were going to go with "Revolver."
4. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?
County Cork, Ireland. I've never been but my paternal grandmother's family comes from there and so it's held this fantastic pseudo-nostalgia for me. It's probably nowhere particularly special in reality but it holds some oddly special place in my heart.
5. Is there any particular game - card, board, video, or otherwise - that you really, really, really wish you could get your hands on? I may or may not be fishing for birthday ideas here.
*chuckle* Well, if it's a possible fishing attempt for gift ideas, Die Macher is right out. I know you're going to look it up to find out why so I'll let the eBay price tags make the point for me. Although... I did hear there was going to be an American release of it, so maybe... Hmmm, I think right now the game I would like to add to our collection most is Keythedral. I really enjoyed playing the game and regret not having the money to buy it when Geeks and Gamers was still open and had it in stock.
