Tonight is such a gorgeous, magnificent night. The air is dry and crisp. It is just the perfect moderate tempurature with only a whisp of cool, light breeze from time to time. The fireflies are plentiful tonight, creating a wonderous silent display of miniature pyrotechnics in motion over our front lawn. As we drove home through the valley moments ago the lightning was illuminating the dark sky, creating fleeting sillhouettes of the darkened mountains against the intensely bright sky. We even caught a glimpse of a lightning bolt dancing its way down to kiss the mountains ahead. The silence is soothing and peaceful and we simply stood on our front lawn and soaked it in for a moment before we came inside.

It's moments like thesae that make me grateful to be alive and appreciate even the simple things in life. No matter what is going on in life it's always a good idea to stop and just be alive for a moment.

*siiiigh* And people wonder why I don't want to move away from here. Screw "where the jobs are", this is ... this is where I am, you know?

We went to Lowe's in Tilton on Father's Day, just as the sun was setting, and because the parking lot was so freaking massive, there weren't any trees to get in the way of the sky, and it all just felt so huge and endless up over me, with the sunset off to one side - plus there was that smell that the air gets, right before it rains. It was pretty perfect, and for a few minutes I forgot how stressed out I was.

You can't sell that sort of thing to people.

Exactly! I interviewed for a database job in Campton just before I graduated from college and they asked why I wasn't in Boston with my skills. I told them what you wrote: because I'd rather live up here.

Nature is wonderful for relieving stress. :)
