Yesterday I got to hang out with [profile] ciliandis for a while before she and [profile] painted_wolfwent to watch Pirates AWE. I'm glad she was able to make it in spite of the crummy start to her day! ^_^

First we went to Second Comings (the local thrift shop) and did some browsing. She bought a couple more ties for me (a nice blue striped one and a crimson tie with yellow and black patterns). The clerk also showed me a nice yellow polo shirt that fit me so I asked them to hold it for me to come back later and pay for it. We also found some cool music in the stack of used CDs but didn't buy anything due to lack of money.

After that we chatted with [profile] painted_wolf at the laundry while waiting for the rain to subside. Eventually the weather cleared some so we walked to the bank. [profile] ciliandis was in full Captain Jack garb so she got some fun and interesting responses from other pedestrians. One young guy exclaimed "Hey it's a pirate! Arrrrrr!" [profile] ciliandis handled it in stride and struck a pose. Nice! *chuckles*

After that we stopped at Bad Dawgs so she could grab a bite to eat. She had never been there before. She ordered a hot dog and we shared a HUGE baked potato. Thanks for the potato [profile] ciliandis! Then we went back to the laundry to hang out for a bit longer.

She also introduced me to a new game called Triplexity. It's a very simple game but still involves a good deal of strategy. Basically you have three wooden pieces to place in a column on one of three spots. The columns can only go three high. After all pieces are played the players take turns moving the top piece from one column to another. The goal is to get all of your pieces in one column together or at the top of all three columns. It was a lot of fun! I was particularly dumb on one game and actually gave her the win unknowingly just by moving one of her pieces on top of the only column I topped. Doh! We played a few smple games and then played on advanced game (playing for points based on the pips on each piece).

After that I had to go to work while [profile] ciliandis and [profile] painted_wolf went to the movie. After the movie we all grabbed food and returned to the laundry to watch The Daily Show and The Colbert Report together. Good stuff. :) The guest on The Colbert Report was Jessica Valenti discussing her new book "Full Frontal Feminism." Her exchange with Colbert was extremely hilarious! I thought she was very well spoken and her book sounds very interesting.

When the shows were over, we parted ways for the moment and each went home to retire for the night.

Today I went back to Second Comings to pick up that shirt. Tonight I'm going to watch Pirates AWE. Thanks for coming up and hanging out [profile] ciliandis, even if things didn't quite end up going as planned! :D

Avast, ye hoser!

Glad you had such a good time ... again, I'm sorry you weren't able to make it to the movie with us. :( But thank you for dinner, and a great evening after a nasty morning. Hopefully someday soon I'll be able to return the favor.

You're very welcome! I hope you had fun!

I'm a little bummed I couldn't be there, but I went to watch it myself last night and had a good time.

I wish you all the best in your upcoming interviews! *crosses fingers and toes*
