So this is just general boring life update stuff, but feel free to read it if you want to keep up with what's been going on in my life. I cannot be held responsible for drowsiness or other side effects.
Saturday after helping Ray move I returned home with a couple of steaks and some asparagus to grill. Kathy greeted me upon my return home asking me to join everyone upstairs for a joint dinner. Well, after spending a day with all kinds of people and working my hump off, the last thing I wanted to do was be social. I begrudgingly agreed on the condition I first get to shower and take a nap. I slept for almost an hour until Kathy came down to tell me dinner was done. We ended up having broiled steak, steamed asparagus, steamed broccoli, chicken sauteed with mushrooms and white rice. It was a good dinner, just not what I had wanted. We had some nice conversation with Lonewolf and Seeker. Lonewolf made these REALLY yummy pina colada milkshakes (for lack of a better word). It had pina colada mixer, rum, strawberry and vanilla ice cream and frozen strawberries all blended together. Mmmmmmmm!
Sunday Kathy and I both had to work in the morning. It was her second day opening in what would be three in a row. It was a fairly uneventful morning and then Melanie showed up to visit us at the laundry, which was cool. Kathy and I looked through a box of books to filter out which we would keep and which we would bring to the used book store. After that all three of us went to hang out at Melanie's place. Melanie cooked us some very tasty pasta with marinara sauce, sausage and cheese. We watched Tremors 2 while we ate, which was a bunch of fun! I'm still puzzled how a really big sandworm turns into a handful of little dog-sized buggy-critters, but it was fun nonetheless. I tried to convince Kathy we should stay to watch Tremors 3 for the assblasters but she really wanted to go home and have some at-home time. So we left. Sorry Melanie! :( After that it was a pretty dull night at home alone. Kathy played Civ IV and I finished volume 1 of the Ranma 1/2 graphic novel.
Yesterday was the third of Kathy's opening shifts in a row but I didn't have to drive her in. Yay! She got a ride with Lonewolf so I got to sleep a little longer. My day was very fragmented. I ended up working two shifts with an hour-and-a-half break in between. I did my usual office work in the morning, complete with a near nervous breakdown because an encumberance for an already expended purchase order hadn't been released and I was showing up as over budget when really I was actually well under budget. I had a nice lunch with Kathy and then went back to work to supervise a production by three high-school students and then to produce the Selectboard meeting. The meeting went extremely quick, so I was thrilled to get out so early and have time to still do things! We ate with Lonewolf and Seeker again and had some more conversation.
So that's my life for the past three days. Tonight we're going to a "Boards and Burgers" party at Preston's to have one last gaming session with Dennis before he moves away. Congratulations on the wedding and graduation Dennis! We're definitely going to miss Dennis. Hopefully he'll come back and visit once in a while.
Well, time to finish the laundry, do some dishes and go for a walk before heading into town.
