This week was more successful, but I still missed a day. I had missed Sunday and resolved to make up for it Monday. Monday came and went and no exercise transpired. I also missed my aerobic exercise on Thursday, but it was worth it for time spent with a friend. Saturday I didn't technically do my planned aerobic activity, but I spent a good solid hour moving heavy boxes of comics and games from a truck into storage and also got in a solid hour of loading the truck, so I'm going to cheat a little and count it. Thanks for the workout Ray! :)
Sunday: missed
Monday: day off
Tuesday: 40 minute walk
Wednesday: 45 minutes of stretching
Thursday: missed
Friday: day off
Saturday: 2 1-hour sessions of rigorous box-moving
My Wednesday stretching actually went very well. I decided to double up on everything now that I had familiarized myself with the routine. I had to leave out a few exercises to allow the workout to fit into the same time but I chose exercises that were close to others in the overall routine and were partially redundant. The walk was really good, too. I walked to the waterfall and back in just under 40 minutes, so next time I'll likely walk down to the falls, back to the house and then walk a ways in the opposite direction before heading back.
I still need to work on the diet, but for now I'm starting on portion control. I'm trying to eat smaller portions and more frequently. I've been marginally successful in reintroducing fresh vegetables. The big limiting factor is income at this point. When all you can afford is PBJ sandwiches and pasta it's very challenging to eat healthy. The job situation will be changing in a month and income will increase dramatically, which is good, so the diet issues should easily resolve at that point.
Goals: get 5 solid days of exercise in a week, start biking and swimming more to add variety to the aerobics days, develop a decent targeted strength training routine to replace the video exercise (too much aerobic exercise and almost no strength training!)
