Kathy and I had a very enjoyable weekend with only a bit of stress mixed in. Mostly the stress involved us not being on the same wavelength with how we wanted to spend Saturday, but that resolved itself and all was good. There was also some living situation stress for me, but I'll not go into that here.
Friday was the usual stuff: work, me hanging out while Kathy finishes her shift, etc. There had been a rather difficult situation over the previous couple weeks with someone where we weren't speaking. We had some nice conversation Friday night and, while I sense things are better, I'm still very confused and not sure where we stand. I'm just happy we're talking again. The person in question means a great deal to me and it seriously bothered me that I hurt her like I did.
Saturday was VERY laid back. I spent the morning playing Civ IV and taking out the Persian, British and French empires while Kathy slept. This was all after winning a time victory, but I just wanted to practice global domination. I had a bully moment. *shrugs* Kathy awoke around 1:00 pm and then the stress ensued for a bit. We left for Plymouth, had a nice little lunch at Mandarin Taste, spent some time at the University library, went grocery shopping and then went home for dinner. We had some time at the fire outside with the guys upstairs and they roasted marshmallows. I was actually proud of myself in resisting the marshmallows. I had a little nibble of Kathy's but otherwise didn't really have any desire to eat them.
Sunday was spent hanging out with Ray, Randy, Sarah and Todd playing games on the last day open for Geeks and Gamers. We had fun even though there was an underlying sadness that the store was closing for good at the end of the day. I will definitely miss it, but Ray is still around and we'll be doing Sunday games a couple times a month at Preston's house. I jumped in at the tail end of Ricochet Robot (Steve, if you remember the PC game Atomix this is very similar - I think you'd enjoy it!). Then we played a couple games of Qwirkle which was A LOT of fun! It's like a mix between Scrabble and Ingenious. Ray, Kathy and I played a game of Edel, Stein & Reich. It's an excellent bawbing game. Very cutthroat. :)
