So I figured there must be something wrong. I figured I would try to contact Linden Labs to let them know their system was telling me I already have an account when I most assuredly don't. You can't. They give you a phone number for billing support but beyond that the only way you can contact them for help with Second Life that I can find is by submitting a support ticket. Which requires an account. Which doesn't help if the issue you're having in the first place is their system not creating an account for you.
Needless to say Second Life didn't really work for me and I won't waste any more time with it.
