you know, its funny... claptrapper and i have talked about how sometimes we wish we were on the other side of the fence, but only if we could *both* switch sides. and not permanently. of course, we've also talked about how really, except for digging me in that sexual way, he's actually quite gay (which, while not the same issue, is a similar vein in some respects). and me, except for having girl-bits and digging him in that sexual way, i'm kinda rather stereotypically manly (read: i dig the fix-it and DIY stuff more, know more about car maintenance, more comfortable around the guys than chicks, etc.). i suppose it is these kinds of attitudes/feelings/personality quirks that makes us perfectly at ease with all *sorts* of people and the way they naturally are.
I think that's really cool! The reality is that gender is a spectrum rather than a true dichotomy, and we all have this blend of "masculine" and "feminine," so it is my hope that in the US we'll get more comfortable as a society accepting people of all gender identities and expressions, whether that's traditionally male, traditionally female, somewhere in between, androgynous, cross dressers, transsexuals, drag queens and drag kings, or any other possibility that I may be missing.
