Kathy and I had a wonderful day hanging out with
vireo_blues today. This was a very unexpected treat since we've been friends online for a while now but only met in real life for the first time today. That was awesome! The last couple attempts to meet in real life didn't work out so well. The first time failed due to my vehicular troubles (surprise). The second was due to winter weather woes. Hey! That's alliteration! Stan Lee would be so proud.
We went for brunch at KelC's Kitchen and
vireo_blues and I opted for some breakfast eats. Their breakfast burrito is the best I've had since New Mexico! (Incidentally, that habanero salsa I mentioned last post goes really well on burgers, but I digress.) Then I gave her the "grand tour" of the channels. Okay, not so grand. It's just two closets.
After that we went back to our apartment and proceeded to sit and chat for a bit before heading to Geeks and Gamers. There was much discussion of green breads, but I must admit that
vireo_blues got the better of the two green breads.
When we got to Geeks and Gamers, I bought Mamma Mia and Kathy bought some new dice. Then we all sat down to play Mamma Mia. It was slow going at first. It had been a while since last I played. I screwed up on the rules a bit. We had fun making pizzas and the game was close in the end. Then Ray gave us the quick rundown of rules on Coloretto and we played with
mattunseen. It looked at first like Kathy was going to beat the pants off us all but in the end
vireo_blues whomped us big-time! Meanwhile
mattunseen shared with us the wonders of Battle Pope, a very interesting comic.
mattunseen and
vireo_blues had to leave but Kathy and I continued to hang out with Ray. I did some more work on his website while he showed Kathy the expansion to Impossible Creatures. She continued to make an army while Ray closed and I worked on the site.
It was a great day!
vireo_blues, we hope you enjoyed the visit.
