I Got Game
Mar. 4th, 2005 08:59 amI'm so psyched that Bill Walton is coming back to EconoCon as a Guest of Honor! We had a great time when he came up for EconoCon 6. He was apparently really excited to return when he was asked again this year.
I'm probably going to run Battle Scarred Veterans Go Hiking this year. No one is running it and I know people have enjoyed it in the past. Now here's the question: do I run one of our canned plot seeds or do I come up with a new idea. I've run all three of the supplements we released so if I did one of them it would be comfortable. And I do only have a month until the con.
I will most definitely be running my GURPS horror game. I have to. It was meant to be. I am basing it on Usher II from "The Martian Chronicles." This should be fun. The players will have to play characters that abhor fantasy of all kinds. The characters are quite literally the nemeses of the players! And I get to attempt killing off the characters in all sorts of neat Edgar Allen Poe ways. Such fun! The reason I say it has to happen is because the con is the weekend of April 9 this year. Usher II was set in April 2005. It was so meant to be.
Some of you are probably wondering, "Hey, if you aren't really all that much into roleplaying, why are you so excited about this?" Well, BSVGH is just a fun little RPG that I as glad to have been a part of making. I'm not great at running RPGs but that's one that is simple enough for me to handle. And people like it when I run it, so their happiness is my happiness. And the GURPS Horror idea is just plain cool, is it not? I mean, come one. Making a bunch of roleplayers play characters that abhor the very thing they are at the moment partaking of and it's set in the very same time as they are playing it only it was meant to be all futuristic? How can that not be cool and exciting? I can't wait. Weeeeeeeeee!
I'll keep you all updated. Yay EconoCon VII: The Resurrection!
