A Technologically Enhanced Day
Feb. 4th, 2005 07:21 pmOkay, so I don't generally like to celebrate having "stuff," but I can't help it today. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I got my iMac today. It's super cool. I am typing this from the laundry again as I wait for Kathy to get out of work. I stayed in town for the candlelight peace vigil so I figure there's no sense in driving all the way home only to come back in another couple hours.
But here's some more coolness today. I had purchased a used PS dance pad from a friend a while back with the intent of using it on my PC with StepMania to exercise during the winter. All I needed was a USB adapter that I found on the web for $16. Well, I found a similar adapter at RadioShack today for only $10! So I bought it. Soon I will be dancing myself to a thinner me. Goodbye fat ass and gut!
I also bought all new optical mice for the laundry lounge and installed them.
While at Mall*Wart picking up a CAT5 cable for our new iMac I found a retractable cable that extends up to 48', which is great since I don't know where I'm going to set it up and I also plan to bring it places from timeto time considering it's so damn portable.
I also bought "Short Circuit" from the DVD bargain bin. Yay!
Last night was draining as I spent over three hours taping the town budget hearing for PCC3. Holy crap was that exhausting! So it was nice to have a beautiful day with so much good stuff happening. I am truly grateful. I'm thinking if I can get this iMac working with iMovie I might purchase another from the PSU surplus list for PCC3 for a temporary solution for post-production.
And now to customize and download software. I already have Seti @ Home running!
