National Coming Out Day

October 11, 2007 is the 20th anniversary of National Coming Out Day. I would like to celebrate everyone who has come out as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgendered. I would also like to wish those still in the closet the courage and strength to come out in their own time. Being in the closet is one of the hardest experiences anyone could possibly ever have: to deny who one truly is out of fear of persecution.

Damn! I forgot to celebrate National Coming Out Day by writing my annual passionate love letter to James Dobson, offering to have his love child if he'll only gird up his loins like a man and publicly declare the true roots of his self-denying fascination with homosexuality -- just as he's always secretly wanted to. James will probably be heartbroken not to hear from me this year. :(
