Here's another quick update while I wait for files to upload.
  • In the past week I lost another eight pounds and have tightened my belt another notch. Three more notches to go before I have to buy a new belt! ^_^
  • The new diet is working out well, if only a bit confusing. Some of the materials the dietitian gave me seem to contradict each other and what we discussed.
  • The morning walk is also working out well. I still enjoy it! :)
  • Our portions are A LOT smaller now so we're saving money on groceries. That's always a big plus.

what diet are you using 'cause I am starting to look for a good diet to lose a few myself...

I'm actually on a meal plan that I set up with my dietitian. Basically I'm just eating smaller portions and no processed foods (well, except one slice of toast with peanut butter with breakfast and a cup of plain yogurt as part of an afternoon snack). My eating habits are now pretty much all fresh vegetables and fruits, meats and very little starches. And drinking lots of water.

If you can afford a dietitian or have health insurance that will cover it (most do these days), I highly recommend it.

Oh, and for fats I am eating a couple teaspoons of olive oil and balsamic vinegar in my lunch salads, butter (don't use margarine or vegetable oil spreads because they use hydrogenated oils that have trans fats) and mayo. For sweets I eat sugar free jello with just a dallop of whipped cream.

You should avoid non-fat foods because your body needs the fats. The yogurt and whipped cream are whole fat. The key is in moderation.
