Friday an Saturday were pretty dull for the most part. I had to work. Things got better when I got out of work. Kathy, Mel and I went shopping for the beach trip we were planning on Sunday, as well as grabbing food for dinner. Melanie ended up buying all the food stuffs so Kathy and I bought beverages and paper products. Melanie cooked a lamb roast with rosemary and garlic that was scrumptious, as well as some sauteed oyster and shitake mushrooms in butter. Yummy! I fried up some squash and zucchini in butter. Then we shared the wonder of Tenacious D: Pick of Destiny with Melanie. She seemed to really enjoy the part with the devil. :) After the D we watched more Doctor Who.
Sunday didn't go as planned but it was still a bunch of fun. While I went to the dump with Lonewolf, Kathy and Mel watched even more Doctor Who. We all finished up the last of season three that we have while I grilled the steak tips, kabobs, mango chicken and asparagus. We had a delicious lunch (thanks Mel!) and went outside for fire since the weather was too crummy for the beach. We roasted marshmallows, made smores, played with fire and lit sparklers. After the fire, Mel took a nap while Kathy and I walked to the waterfall and rested there for a bit. After that we chatted a bit and I drove Mel home, grabbed dinner and cooked for Kathy. After dinner Kathy and I watched Mystery Men. I never noticed until last night that Dane Cook is in Mystery Men! He played The Waffler. :) Of course, Eddie Izzard is in Mystery Men, which I knew and that makes me happy. ^_^
All around it was a restful day off and fun with friends. Hopefully next Sunday will be nice beach weather.
