Happy Birthday To Me! - Part I
Sep. 23rd, 2007 10:03 pmToday was a wonderfully splendid day for a birthday! :D
I didn't do much in the way of special, but we did some house cleaning and I made a couple of runs to the recycling center. The weather was gorgeous! This time of year is my absolute favorite, and as I drove along our road with the foliage turning colors all I could think of was Robert Frost's "The Road Not Taken."
Seeker and I played a game of Speels and Potions, which was a simple trick taking card game with an added twist of spells and potions that could momentarily change the rules. Then we played a game of Sequence, which he just picked up at the recycling center earlier in the day. It was actually a really neat game! It exceeded both of our expectations.
We were going to spend the afternoon with
sk_brainstorm but sadly he was unable to make it. Hopefully he'll be able to make it up here next weekend? I'm also hoping my parents will come up to visit.
Seeker asked us if we wanted to see Resident Evil: Extinction with him and Lonewolf so we went and it was awesome. I really enjoyed it. Lots of jumpy moments and great choreography!
When we got home it wasn't more than a minute or two after getting in the door when my parents called to wish me a happy birthday, which was wonderful. After hanging up the phone my sister Cat called, too.
Now I must sleep, and in the morning, after I go for my walk and drive Kathy to class, I am going to finally eat a normal-sized breakfast and it will be a true breakfast in the sense that it will break my then 36-hour fast. I'll consider it a birthday gift for myself to eat out for breakfast. :)
