I LOVE THESE BANDS!!!
Aug. 13th, 2005 02:15 amOkay, I heard this really great song on the local radio station and had to know who it was. So much that I called the radio station to find out because they wouldn't announce the song title and artist after it played everytime I heard it. The incredible tandem guitar solo rocked my world so hard it gave me musical joygasms! The band is Avenged Sevenfold. It's been a long time since I've heard something on commercial radio that I fell in love with at first listen.
I was watching RageTV tonight, as I've become hooked on this great music video program from Cambridge, and saw a really cool video from a duo of very young girls writing some pretty neat music. They are Smoosh. The video was done in stop-motion claymation. That was pretty sweet viewing material I have to say.
On the topic of music, I heard the new Nine Inch Nails "Only" and I have to say I like it better than the previous single "The Hand That Feeds" except there's one part that sounds like a direct rip-off of John B's "American Girls (Synthopop Electrostep Mix)."
Don't believe me or don't understand? Have a listen:
NIN
John B
Also very briefly on a video note, I found out from the local paper that a film student that lives in the next town over (Ashland, NH) made a zombie horror/comedy flic that's winning awards. I'm trying to get him to submit it for cablecast on our PEG access channel. Here's hoping. In the meantime he's selling copies at a local video store and I may have to go get it. It's called Half Dead.
PS - This is messed up. If she gets stuck, click on and drag her to get her moving again.
